It’s almost that time of the year.  Yes, Ruby will be turning two. This time last year was her 1st birthday and I was in a frenzy of princess party pink. As a former event manager, I can’t just serve up a store bought cake with a few chocolate crackles and some fairy bread. Oh no, a party organised by moi needs to be a full on event planned mission with every little detail covered. And of course being the first party I ever threw for Ruby, it was a very special occasion. Here’s some pics of what it all looked like.

The buffet table. I also had pink lemonade on tap:

And the princess herself in her party dress (not yet walking):

One of my favourite things was to get everyone to do a fingerprint and write their names on it so Ruby could have a memory of all those that came to her party:

My very first handmade birthday cake…a 5 layer ombre cake smothered in vanilla butter cream (am sure there will be many, many of these to come in all shapes and sizes!):

And I decorated Ruby’s highchair with lots of pink:

The invitation I designed:

Mental note to self that I need to take better photos this year!!

So for Ruby’s 2nd birthday party, the theme is a little different to all the fluffy pink of last year. This year its all about Ruby’s favourite TV show – In the Night Garden. OMG I think we watch that show 24 x 7 (well it feels like we do!).

The plans so far…I am going to attempt a cake with Upsy Daisy on it…I’m actually a bit scared at the thought of this but I gotta give it ago and if it doesn’t work then Coles with a store bought cake is only around the corner! The decorations are all yellow and red to match the invitation I had designed on Fiverr. We are going to do a pin the blanket on Iggle Piggle as a game. Of course we have every character for decoration. The rest of the party is still in planning mode so stay tuned for the pics in a couple of weeks after it is all done and dusted.

In the meantime, wish me luck!!!

Have fun,
